A Peaceful Place...

My father always went to the barn and checked the livestock before bed.

The barn, late at night, in the cold winter, is the most peaceful place in all the world.  I can see why God chose the stable for the birthplace of His Son.  I believe one can be closer to God in a barn with livestock than anywhere else.  The cows are quiet, the sheep are lying down, many with lambs close by.  Comforting soft sounds come from the hogs.  This has always been my favorite place and time to sit and thank God for His many blessings.  I thank my father, too, for showing me the most peaceful place in the world.
